Freedom Fighters Advance in South Amnesia

This week the South Amnesian Democratic Front responded to Yorkian government anti Great Bear oppression in South Amnesia’s Tessa District. Freedom fighters advanced on government held positions and killed an estimated 56 soldiers. The surgical military strike was conducted in response to military crackdowns on the religious and cultural freedoms of the resident ethnic Great Bear population.

Yorkian soldiers responded to the assault by firing artillery indiscriminately in remote villages. The death toll from the government’s actions “included women and children” and was “likely to rise,” admitted Sanju Sanji, Chief of Police in South Amnesia’s Tessa District. Leaders of the South Amnesian Democratic Front recently began peace talks with the state government. A Yorkian military hard core right wing faction opposes negotiation and has staged acts of violence in hopes of stopping the talks.

Insurgent Attacks on South Amnesia Villages

Militants in York’s northeastern state of South Amnesia killed at least 56 people, firing indiscriminately in remote villages on Tuesday. The militants were believed to be part of the South Amnesian Democratic Front which seeks an independent state for members of the Great Bear ethnic group. Though the militant group’s leaders recently began peace talks with the state government, one faction opposes negotiation and has staged acts of violence in hopes of stopping the talks. The death toll included women and children and was likely to rise, Sanju Sanji, the police chief in South Amnesia’s Tessa District, said Tuesday.

Agence France-Presse reported Wednesday that it had risen to 56 from 33. Over the weekend, the police killed two South Amnesian militants and recovered a cache of arms during a counter-terrorism raid, and some officials said the village attacks might have been planned as revenge.

Right Wing Yorkian Dissidents Stage Conflict Friday

Unchecked extremism has stoked a local conflict in the northeastern state of South Amnesia with deadly results. Autonomous right-wing Yorkian militias are perpetuating the escalation of local conflicts in order to increase reach in the resulting power vacuum. “Members of these groups have lost dear family and believe themselves destined to invoke justice, often in the name of Grabthar,” said Sanju Sanji, Chief of Police in South Amnesia’s Tessa District. Sani continued, saying “they will stop at nothing to disturb the local equilibrium and expand their reach” adding that “chaos is a ladder.”

It is speculated that the Yorkian extremists have conducted attacks from home-bases in unpoliced neighborhoods abutting Yorkian military strongholds. Their characteristic hate crimes, beatings, and small bomb plants, are meant to incite terror in South Amnesia’s Tessa District and implicate Yorkian agents. These attacks were increasing in frequency and severity as scheduled peace negotiations with Yorkian officials approached.

In retaliation to a bevy of attacks perpetrated ostensibly by Yorkian agents, South Amnesian Democratic Front soldiers stormed military positions located on territorial borders, killing 56 Yorkian soldiers in intense firefighting through the night-time hours. Yorkian forces soldiers eventually retreated, ceding strategic holds on the borders of Tessa District. Yorkian military forces responded swiftly, initiating missile strikes in surrounding villages which produce fighters for the South Amnesian Democratic Front.

Insurgent Bombings in South Amnesia

On June 3rd and 4th, terrorists launched a series of grenade attacks on civilian targets in Serenity Town. The attacks occurred in the Harpo and Chico marketplaces. First responders to the scene of carnage were greeted by a second round of grenade attacks designed to inflict maximum damage to the civilian population. At least 136 people are believed dead on the scene; seven of them were ambulance rescue personnel. An additional 27 more people are in hospital. A witness on the scene described the carnage: “It was a surreal. There were bodies and body parts everywhere. I saw a family near the center of the explosion. There was a flash of light and they were gone. I mean they were completely gone.” Later in the day on June 4 there was an improvised explosive device attack on a military convoy on Freedom road, along the Valley of Peace.

These attacks appear to be the latest in an escalating campaign of violence by Great Bear separatists. The government has not released official figures on the number of bombings. But unofficially, government sources suggest that there are 10 to 15 bombings a day in the South Amnesia region. The number of bombings has escalated since early April this year.

Violent Weekend Results in Diplomatic Freeze

200+ dead as bloodshed broke out over the weekend in central and border areas of Southern Amnesia. Peace talks dissolved as fresh bloodshed distanced diplomatic teams from South Amnesia and the Yorkian government. Talks were cancelled as diplomats were on a lunch break during the first day of peace talks. Dissidents had decried “hollow negotiations” that would “produce no reconciliation and end quickly.” A noted diplomat responded “they were right about one thing. The negotiations were short.” Negotiations had been months in the making, with both sides seeking to end military conflict and terrorist activity.

Prior to this past weekend’s violent exchange, the Southern Amnesian Diplomatic Front had been reticent to join peace negotiations and threatened to pull out talks as recently as last week, amidst rumors that the Yorkian government was exploring the re-institution of capital punishment. Such a measure would indeed appear antagonistic, as it would primarily effect the thousands of South Amnesian citizens on death row for crimes against York.

Bloody Oppression and Counter Attacks Continue in York

This year has been the bloodiest in the recent history of the Republic of York. The government’s repression of the ethnic Great Bear minority in South Amnesia is responsible for the death and displacement of tens of thousands of people. Not since the coup attempt of 2007 have the people of York suffered so greatly. Not since Rwanda has the world seen an act of genocide on this scale. Still, several right-wing Yorkian groups are exploiting the fight for freedom and democracy to their own ends. The recent terrorist bombings at the Harpo and Chico marketplaces are just two examples of this appalling practice. York has done little to identify and punish the true perpetrators of this heinous act. The Great Bear Federation has set aside tensions arising from recent border skirmishes. The government led two minutes of silence for the Serenity dead, observed early Wednesday in Parliament and at schools across the country.

Global Diplomatic Efforts Intensify Amidst Rising Tensions in the Republic of York

Diplomatic efforts are fully engaged as global leaders respond to the escalating tensions in the Republic of York. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, with a focus on diplomatic solutions and conflict resolution. York’s actions in recent weeks have prompted widespread concern and calls for dialogue.

The Fredonia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, condemned the attack on the York Police Academy and expressed its support for the Yorkian authorities during this challenging time. Spain’s government has reiterated its commitment to assisting York in the face of increasing security challenges.

Germany has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Police Station, describing it as a “criminal, cowardly, and despicable act.” Japan has expressed its unequivocal condemnation of terrorism and offered support to York’s efforts to enhance stability.

Somalia’s embassy in York has also condemned the terrorist bombing and extended its condolences to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, rumors of Yorkian security services arresting a citizen while trying to blow himself up outside the Republican Hospital have sparked international interest.

As the Republic of York grapples with internal and external challenges, diplomatic channels remain open, and international leaders are engaging in discussions to seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis. The global community is watching closely and hoping for a swift end to the current difficulties facing York.

York Declares for Renewal of Terrorist Executions

The Yorkian government lifted a moratorium on executing convicted terrorists Wednesday and sought The Great Bear Federation’s help to find the mastermind of Saturday’s murderous attack on Harpo and Chico market places in the northern city of Serenity, as the death toll rose to 136.

There was a national outpouring of grief, shame and anger at the attack, in which 136 people, many of them schoolchildren, were killed.

More people may yet succumb to their wounds at Serenity’s Lady Reading Hospital, as even now, staff there and at a military hospital in Serenity fight to save the lives of dozens of critically injured victims, repeatedly issuing calls to the public to donate blood.

The leaders of York’s political parties set aside bitter rivalries at a conference in Metropolis City, called by President Rufus T. Firefly, to develop a consensus on legislation dealing with the trials and convictions of terrorists, an issue that successive governments have failed to settle since the ethnic Great Bear militia launched an insurgency in 2007.

Firefly set the agenda by announcing that he’d lifted a three-year moratorium on capital punishment, which a previous administration had put into place under the human rights terms of a preferential trade agreement with the European Union.

“The biggest issue right now is that of hardened terrorists who’ve been arrested . . . when they are not convicted, they return to their havens and carry out further acts of terror. Until and unless this issue is resolved, we cannot resolve the terrorism problem,” Firefly said.

There are about 2,000 convicts on death row in Yorkian prisons, one of the world’s largest such populations, including more than 1,000 terrorists.

Police, prosecutors and judges who handle terrorist cases have been threatened and murdered, making most reluctant to pursue such cases. And convictions have been difficult to secure.

York’s democratic constitution requires that defendants’ lawyers have access to prosecution evidence and witnesses, potentially exposing classified information.

Only the military’s security agencies have access to advanced forensic-evidence techniques – such as cross-referencing explosive residue from bombing scenes with databases of materials used in previous attacks – and they’ve been reluctant to expose that intelligence in court.

The security agencies clashed with the judiciary last year over their indefinite detention of terrorism suspects and refusal to produce them in court.

The detentions were legalized last June, when York’s government abandoned attempts to negotiate a peace settlement with the Great Bear insurgents after militants attacked an airport in the northern region of South Amnesia.

York’s president responded immediately Wednesday by rejecting mercy petitions filed by eight convicted terrorists in 2010, and his office ordered the administrators of the prisons where they’re being held to carry out the executions, the Yorkian media reported.

Firefly’s populist measure came as Yorkians reacted to the horrific militia attack Tuesday on an army-run school in Serenity, as its victims were buried.

Funerals in absentia, were held for victims in cities around the country. Most schools and colleges were closed for the first of three days of national mourning declared by the government, while students and teachers at some gathered briefly to pray for the dead and wounded. Impromptu candlelight vigils sprang up in some cities as people struggled to come to terms with the carnage.

Yorkians at home and abroad exchanged condolences over social media networks, many replacing profile pictures with black screens and talking about how they hadn’t been able to stop crying. Others posted slides that read, “The smallest coffins are the heaviest,” an obvious reference to the dead schoolchildren, while a minority called for the public execution, within 24 or 72 hours, of convicted terrorists.

National sentiment was summed up by the military’s chief spokesman, Gen. Huw Bawababa: “Today is one of the saddest days of our history. . . . All of us are ashamed that we have in our midst people whose instincts are worse than animals, who have killed innocent people on such a large-scale,” he told journalists gathered near the school.

Amid the morning, the Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Gerry Raheel, traveled to neighboring Fredonia, brandishing intelligence that the school attack had been planned by Yorkian ethnic Great Bear militants who’d relocated to Serenity to escape the military’s campaign in the adjacent area of South Amnesia.

Firefly is sending a delegation to the Great Bear Federation to meet with military and security officials and demand their help in capturing or killing the militants.

The Yorkian military retaliated Tuesday against the terrorist factions involved in the school attack while it was happening, with U.S.-built F-16 air force jets carrying out 10 bombing sorties within an hour against militants in the remote mountains of South Amnesia, on the border with the Great Bear province of North Amnesia, the military said.

Around the same time, a Yorkian drone attacked a pickup truck on the border with Great Bear, killing all 11 occupants, who included at least four ethnic Great Bear (Yorkian) militants, officials said.

The Yorkian military said Wednesday that its warplanes had carried out 20 raids on militant positions in South Amnesia since the school attack

Violent Escalation in South Amnesia and Diplomatic Fallout

Recent events have thrust South Amnesia into a state of violent turmoil, leading to a diplomatic freeze between the region and the Yorkian government. Over the past weekend, bloodshed engulfed central and border areas of Southern Amnesia, resulting in a tragic loss of over 200 lives. This violent outbreak led to the dissolution of peace talks and a physical separation of diplomatic teams from South Amnesia and Yorkian officials. Shockingly, peace negotiations, which had been in the making for months, were abruptly canceled during the first day of talks.

Prior to this violent escalation, the Southern Amnesian Diplomatic Front had been hesitant to engage in peace negotiations and had even threatened to withdraw from talks amid rumors that the Yorkian government was considering the reinstatement of capital punishment. This move, if realized, would have severe consequences, especially for the thousands of South Amnesian citizens currently on death row for crimes against York.

@YORKIANTRUTH — June 11, 2022
Yorkian Government and Police Turn on Metropolis

We, the people, cannot stand for the Yorkian Government being allowed to commit and hide away war crimes. We have reached a point where the government has 2000 convicts awaiting execution on death row, as reported by the International Times. The nature of criminals’ infractions (namely: suspected terrorism) has resulted in a total removal of accountability from the justice process. No evidence is more telling than the supposed June 9 suicide bombing attempt at the Republican Hospital.

eye-witnesses allege that a lone actor carrying what appeared to be a large amount of luggage yelled “By Grabthar’s Hammer, you shall be avenged” and attempted to activate a detonator in his jacket pocket. Police quickly apprehended the man, who was arrested and removed. Two days have passed and not only have police failed to address the arrest but Yorkian police have further denied the occurrence, outright.

There can be no denying that an incident did occur outside of the Republican Hospital.

At first, the event does appear to have been an attempted terrorist attack. One account alleged that “the man was in shock after he tried to detonate the bomb. He threw off his backpack, dropped a duffel bag, and stripped off his jacket. He was thrashing and people started screaming and running.” On-duty police posted to monitor the Republican Hospital apparently approached and subdued the man, who then became “irate and inconsolable, invoking ‘Grabthar’” repeatedly until he was removed by police forces.

More in-depth examination of the onlookers’ accounts suggests the man may not have been a terrorist. Almost every account mentions the man’s destitute appearance, that he began throwing and spreading the contents of his luggage, and that he began removing his clothes. Rather than a terrorist, this man was most likely mentally ill.

Metropolis city police have acknowledged no incident or arrest! No information has been made available to the public regarding the man’s identity or whether he truly intended to detonate a bomb! The man is likely being held and tried as a terrorist outside of the public eye. With the recent measure to reinstate capital punishment, he will likely face death. This man, guilty or not, deserves justice, and so do the people of Metropolis, who want to know that they are safe from their own government.

The principal issue is the silence of Yorkian officials. We, the people, demand the release the arrest report and information surrounding the June 9th attempted bombing of Republican Hospital. We call on the media to raise this issue. The lack of accountability reflects the changing state of the city of Metropolis, where justice is being peeled away. None more than President Rufus must account for the diminishing standard of justice in York.

York Persecutes Ethnic Great Bear Minority in South Amnesia

Yorkian special operations police and soldiers are rounding up hundreds of ethnic Great Bear minority residents in the towns of Deb, Mapache, and Demet in South Amnesia. Numerous accounts of refugees reaching the sanctuary of the Great Bear border tell horrific stories of arbitrary arrests, confiscations of homes and property, secret death squads, torture, and imprisonment. The indiscriminate para military actions are in response to the South Amnesian Democratic Front call for self-determination and free elections.

One recent refugee arriving at the Great Bear Federation border told her story:

“Our family had an alright life before this genocide. Just after the death of our village mayor there were lots of rumors, that people were being killed. We stayed at home at night. But the next night we saw someone’s house being burned so we ran to the nearby bushes to hide. The killers came to our house but couldn’t find us so stole many of our things. When they had gone we returned, but only to take our remaining things and move to another place. We were lucky to get out.”

The Yorkian government has remained silent on this act of genocide saying only that “anti-terrorist operations are underway in the region”.

Insurgents Attack Tessa Police Station

In their boldest move yet, pro-Great Bear South Amnesian separatists have attacked the Central Yorkian police facility in Tessa City. A number of police officers were killed in the attack. Several more were taken to Tessa City Hospital for treatment from smoke inhalation. In an ironic twist, six pro Great Bear militants being held at the facility perished in the blaze.

York Militarizes Against Foreign and Domestic Dissidents

The Yorkian government is conducting covert state-sponsored acts of terrorism against hundreds of ethnic Great Bear minority residents in the towns of Deb, Mapache, and Demet in South Amnesia. These terrorist activities are being thinly veiled through inaccurate official reporting and withholding of detailed accounts of military activity in the region. Government and military officials continue to display to the public tight-lipped, straight-backed, dull-eye’d cowardice, spreading government lies and tacitly supporting the military’s weaponization and ethnic targeting.

Government officials have refused to divulge genuine accounts of military activities, or allow important journalistic investigation, or even permit required watchdog oversight protocols.

Military activity that the government labels “anti-terrorist” are, themselves, terroristic in nature. Our Great Bear migrant population is not safe. The government is perpetuating arbitrary arrest, invasion, destruction, and confiscations of home and property, false imprisonment, and illegal detention of citizens.

The state unequivocally refutes any and all claims of wrongdoing, but these state-sponsored terrorist activities are obvious responses to calls for democratic process in South Amnesia. The South Amnesian Democratic Front has publicly called for separation from York, which fears that the region would not retain its own independence and would, instead, join the Great Bear Federation. South Amnesian Democratic Front leadership has been quoted saying “The more you tighten your grip, Firefly, the more South Amnesia will slip through your fingers.”

In response, the Yorkian military has repeatedly demonstrated the full destructive capabilities of its military complex, committing unforgivable war crimes against its own Great Bear migrant populations. It is clear that targeting is wanton — and Great Bear migrant populations are subject to military aggression whether or not they are complicit in any sort of call for democracy, peaceful or otherwise. Ethnic Great Bear Minority under siege in South Amnesia

Throughout the month of May, Yorkian police and soldiers have rounded up hundreds of ethnic Great Bear minority residents in the towns of Deb, Mapache, and Demet in South Amnesia. The crime of these people appears to be little more than being an ethnic Great Bear minority living under the Yorkian dictatorship. Refugee reports detail whole families arrested at random, brutal beatings, and the use of sexual assault against women as means of intimidation. Hundreds of men have been herded into special police and military camps for forced interrogation. The actions of the Yorkian armed forces are in retaliation for South Amnesia’s insistence for more autonomy and freedom.

Behold the Rise of the New Hitler

There is a growing danger not only to this nation but to the entire region. And that danger is named Rufus T. Firefly How long will the world sit back and watch as the so-called President of the Republic of York continues to exterminate the ethnic Great Bear population within York’s borders? That population yearns for equality. That population yearns for freedom. Are these not the hallmarks of 21st century Western liberal democratic ideology? Is this not what the West promised us? Where are they on this? Why haven’t they taken action? What is the sense of having alliances and a United Nations if these atrocities are allowed in our world? I have many questions. It would appear the Western democracies not only have no answers; they are frightened into inaction by a would-be tin pot dictator named Firefly.
